Donald Dooger is the leader of one of the primary gangs assaulting the economy of New Shelby. He and his brother Billy (deceased by Donnie's hand) are responsible for destroying the town several years prior. After being wounded on the run, Josephine Chisholm tends his hurts and his heart. He leaves for New Shelby before learning of Josie's pregnancy. Donnie also has a very close acquaintance with Phoebe Reed, the brothel madam, and spent some time in the past doing assassination jobs for Grayson Whiteley's father. He is adamantly against causing women and children unjust harm, and is quite impressively skilled with a bowie knife. In town, he usually introduces himself by his alias, Emit Reynolds.
