Appearance: A petite blonde with a beautiful face, she's had her share of suitors. She's extremely thin, almost too thin. She has very distinct features. She dresses in the best of the best clothing, and always wears jewelry, despite her father's warnings about outlaws. She counters that, if not for her finery, no one would know that she was any different than all of the savages in the area.

Personality: Spoiled rotten as the only daughter of a very wealthy family, Emily doesn't have any sense of other people's wants or needs. She is ridiculously snobby and hateful, until she sees someone who seems to be equal to her in wealth, or someone attractive who catches her eye. She is often kinder to her dog, Mac, than to people.

Special Skills/Weapons Used: She knows how to get what she wants, especially from her father.

Weaknesses: She's terrible at being useful. Usually, in times of trouble, she makes things even worse by her selfish reactions.

HISTORY

Emily grew up in the lap of luxury. The only problem she could see with her life was her parents trying to marry her off to man after man, suitor after suitor, when, for some reason she didn't want any of them. Her parents chalked it up to her firm belief that no one was good enough for her, but she wasn't sure if that was it.

As a girl, Emily had lived in another town, but traveled to Shelby a lot with her father. At the age of 16, she had been sent home from Shelby because her father was going to have to stay later than expected. The stagecoach she was on was attacked by outlaws, and only Emily survived. Spending the night alone on the road was terrifying, but amazingly, she was discovered by an Indian girl who spoke English. Her name was Sarah, or Runs with wolves, and for the 3 days it took for the news to get to her father in Shelby and the 3 days it took for him to get to her, Sarah cared for her. She cooked for her and cared for wounds.

One day, as Runs with wolves was cooking, Emily suddenly realized that something was very different. She was in love with this Indian girl. Having heard that the Indians had no issue with women taking women for lovers, or men taking men, Emily decided that, this once, she would do something wild, that her proper family would disapprove of. After Runs with wolves stoked the fire for the night, and the two girls had bedded down, Emily moved from her bed to rest in the arms of the Indian girl.

The next day, her father had arrived to take her away, and she had bid farewell to Sarah.

She returned to her normal life, little knowing that her father's company would move him to Shelby less than a year later.

Once in the town, Emily couldn't help wondering if her first love would ever be found again.
